Recently, Meghan completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Alberta with an Honours in Political Science and a minor in Sociology. Her Honors thesis, “Understanding Populist Radical Right Framing of Climate Change” focused on identifying an interconnected web of co-informing ideologies that each influenced the framing of anti-climate change discourse of populist radical right parties. Meghan now seeks to use her master’s research to further analyze populist radical right ideology around climate change issues, and what a rise in populist radical right parties to policy making positions might mean for national and international climate frameworks or energy transition initiatives. The arc of Meghan’s research aims to elucidate what a rise in populist radical right parties could mean for climate policy, climate action, and climate justice from a gendered perspective.
